The International Ninja Grand Prix is an evolution from last year’s Ninja World Cup.

Not only is it a rebrand for our Asian community who already have a Ninja World Cup (we didn’t know that when we chose the name!), but it is a complete revamp of what a weekend of Ninja action looks like.

The biggest change is to the format for the competition.  Instead of a traditional competition where there is only one opportunity to compete on each stage, this year we’re taking on the ambitious task of hosting THREE different formats over the weekend.

Not only that, but we are partnering with UNAA and FINA to provide even more value for our athletes through opportunities to qualify for their world expo 2025 in the USA.

🚨 WHEN / WHERE IS THE COMPETITION?

14 – 15 December 2024, at Ninja Academy in Perth, WA.

Start times and more specific details for the weekend will be sent to competitors closer to the date.

NB: Ninja Academy will likely be closed from 11 – 13 December so we can set the course for the competition.

🚨 NEW STYLE OF COMPETITION

We’re going for our most ambitious style of competition ever – combining solo, skills, and team into one massive weekend of competition.

The GRAND PRIX (Grand Prize) will be awarded to the winning team, after their athletes earn points across the three events.

SOLO

The SOLO event will be a 3 Stage effort to conquer the course.
The format for the solo event will be different for each stage, meaning the winner will need to be a well rounded Ninja to take on all the challenges.

NB: This is a brief overview and detailed rules will be released to competitors closer to the event. Format and rules are subject to change.

Stage One will be more inclusive, running on a points per obstacle basis – meaning most athletes will get to attempt every obstacle in Stage One (detailed rules to come later) instead of ending their run if they fall once.

Athletes who complete a flawless run on Stage One will earn a valuable “life” to use on Stage Two.

Think speed run.

STAGE ONE WILL ALSO BE THE UNAA QUALIFIER, WITH SEPERATE QUALIFICATION SPOTS FOR AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES

Stage Two will be the hybrid stage – some skills, some pump, some speed.  The difficulty will shoot up with more dynamic moves, but with a little more time to get the job done.

Athletes who complete a flawless run on Stage Two will earn a crucially important “retry” on Stage Three.

Think skills run.

Stage Three will be the final stage featuring the hardest obstacles designed to test the grip and endurance of even the best athletes.

Think endurance run.

We will be crowning the SOLO Champion for both males and females.

SKILLS

The SKILLS event will feature multiple skill based challenges available to athletes across the weekend.

This means that athletes can complete their SOLO run, and then take on some of the SKILLS challenges on the same day – ensuring there is plenty of action for both athletes and spectators all weekend long.

Examples of challenges that may be included in SKILLS are:

  • BALANCE
  • LACHES
  • SPEED
  • ENDURANCE

We will be recognising champions for each skill category, and crowning an overall SKILLS Champion for both males and females.

All athletes participating in INGP require a SOLO/SKILLS ticket through NinjaMaster.

CLAN WARS (TEAM)

The CLAN WARS event is the crux of the weekend and the main feature of the International Ninja Grand Prix.

Requiring a dedicated ticket, the TEAM event is the only way to win the Grand Prix (meaning Grand Prize).

While the SOLO and SKILLS events will factor into the TEAM event seeding, earning the honour and  prize money will be reserved for the winning team.

CLAN WARS is open to all athletes aged 14+ however the obstacles will be designed for elite Ninjas, so choose your team carefully.

Teams should be formed on the following basis where possible:

  1. Athletes from your home state (e.g. WA athletes only)
  2. Athletes from your home country (e.g. Team USA)
  3. Athletes from your home region (e.g. Team Asia)
  4. All athletes (e.g. mixed team)

Each team will comprise of 4 athletes, and each team MUST include at least one female athlete.

There will be various stages for the CLAN WARS event, and formats may vary each round.  For example, one round may be a relay event, one round may be points based, and another may be a “head to head” style.

At the end of the weekend we will be able to crown the CLAN WARS Champions who will also win the Grand Prix! 🏆

NB: Each clan (team) member must also have a SOLO/SKILLS ticket in order to participate in CLAN WARS.

There are only 32 spots available (total of 8 teams), and only a full team of 4 can register. If you register without a full team, your registration will be cancelled.

Please send an email to info@ninjaacademy.com.au with a list of the athletes in your team.

🚨 ARE THERE PRIZES?

Grand Prix translates to “Grand Prize” which is the ONLY prize money available to the CLAN WARS CHAMPION!

Awards will be presented across the styles and age divisions, but only one team will walk away with the GRAND PRIX.
