| 24 HOUR PULL UP CHALLENGE | 17 & 18 AUGUST 2024 In 2022, one of our members – Jack Anderson – hatched a plan to raise funds for charity by doing a 24 hour pull up challenge… In September 2022, a small group of Ninja Academy members (legends, if you will 😉) took on the first 24 Hour Pull Up Challenge trying to reach the individual goal of doing 4,030 pull ups in 24 hours, and as a result we collectively raised an incredible $10,000 for charity. Building on that idea we completed the challenge again and partnered with Destiny Rescue in 2023 raising over $14,000 to help rescue children from sex trafficking. |
THE CAUSE: RESCUING CHILDREN Destiny Rescue exists to end child sexual exploitation and slavery, conducting raids across the globe, rescuing over 14,000 people across their entire operation. There are more than 1,000,000 people exploited by sex trafficking across the globe, so while they have done some incredible work so far, there is still a lot more to do and more help needed. Our mission at Ninja Academy is to Empower Humans. We work with everyone from young kids to much older kids (sometimes referred to as “adults”), and we are proud to be partnering with this amazing organisation to help fund their work rescuing people across the world. |
THE GOAL: $50,000 RAISED While raising $24,000 as a local gym community was a huge effort the last two years, this year we’d love to hit a “milestone”… We’re aiming to bring our total raised to at least $50,000 So while every rep counts, and we really want to see people smashing their personal and team pull up goals, we don’t want to lose focus on what this is all about – rescuing children. And the reality is…that takes money. Just $1,800 enables Destiny Rescue to rescue one underage child and $10,000 enables them to conduct a police/military raid that can save up to 70 children in one sweep. Once you’ve registered, the MAIN THING is to share your unique donation link, get the word out there, and raise some funds for this incredible organisation spreading light in the world. Every dollar counts. |
THE CHALLENGE: 50,000 PULL UPS Much like a running event, you can choose your level of challenge: 3hrs 6hrs 12hrs, or the monstrous 24hrs There is no set number of pull ups required, but we are aiming to match our fundraising goal with pull ups – so that’s 50,000 total pull ups for $50,000 raised. When we say every rep and every dollar counts, we mean it! Some people will be aiming for 4,000+ reps, while others will be contributing 10, or 100 reps. It all helps, and it’s not about strict pullups – you can use a band, or other assistance to get those reps out. It’s more about the heartset and mindset to help people, rather than the specific technical challenge of pullups. Every rep counts. |
GETTING INVOLVED The amazing team at Destiny Rescue, with a little help from us, have done a great job making it super easy for you to get involved and make a difference: You can participate anywhere in the world You don’t need to be at Ninja Academy to take part. In fact, we would rather see thousands of people across the world join in than be limited to just what we can handle at the gym. You can ask your school or your local gym to register as a hub so you can take part there, or you can even participate from the comfort of your own home – or anywhere you can safely (and legally) do pull ups for 24hrs. Just make sure to register online, spread the word, then log those reps! Go solo or join a team You can register as a solo participant or as part of a team to help raise more money, and do more reps. Challenge other teams – you might have a rival workplace, school, or gym that you want to challenge to see which team can log the most pull ups, and raise the most money. We’re all for a bit of friendly competition, especially for such a good cause 😁 You can track your pull ups and fundraising online Simply visit thepullupchallenge.com.au to sign up, and you can view your fundraising dashboard, along with resources to help spread the word and get training. As the event starts, you’ll be able to log your reps so they get added to the total (mobile friendly view). NINJA ACADEMY HUB PARTICIPATION We’re not going to lie, this challenge can be grueling for those taking on the full 24hrs. BUT, we found that having mates around made it a much better experience than going it alone. That’s why Ninja Academy will once again be a “hub” for people to participate in the gym, but spaces will be VERY LIMITED. Applications will open closer to the event date. |
THE NEXT STEPS We’ve given you most of the information you need to get involved with the pull up challenge in 2024 and help rescue more children and women from sex slavery than ever before. Now it’s up to you to take the next step. Register online. Spread the word. Start training. Saving lives really is that simple. Remember, even if you don’t participate in the event, you can still play a vital role in helping change the world – you can donate to a friend or team, you can volunteer to help out at a hub, or you can simply share this email and the challenge with someone who you think would love to take part.
